I was just wondering, If I have a x64 based PC running Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit version, should I install all my games in the Program Files folder or in the Program Files (x86) folder, I know that the x86 program files folder is meant for 32 bit applications, does it make a difference when you install games in the x64 program files folder rather than the x86 folder?
Most definitely I'm running a 64 bit W10 system. I finally found the Program Files Folder with the (86) suffix. It was a "Hidden File" Open C Drive. Right click Program Files (x86) /click properties to get window at right. Make sure 'Hidden' is un-checked. Should look like screen capture attached. No need to fool with View tab in left Explorer One big issue here with Program Files being best practice is that creating directories in C drive doesn't require admin privileges and Program Files does. When trying to write software that doesn't need admin, C could be preferable (though using AppData would be the true solution in that case, for most situations).
